Xier Peng wins the Galois prize

Galois Club communication 6.4.2019

Xier Peng, a Lyseo IB student, won the Galois Club Prize Contest for solving the Prize Problem 2019A. The problem was formulated ca. 1650 by the French mathematician Pierre de Fermat. The first proof was published a century later by Leonhard Euler. The Contest Jury commented Xier's proof being "correct and more elegant than Euler's". Congratulations!
